Blue Prism Components

Blue Prism is an RPA set that includes libraries, tools, and runtime environments.

Each software robot is made up of two parts:

  1. Process Studio
  2. Object Studio

What's Object Studio?

Blue Prism's Object Studio is used to build different objects. Object Studio is where you can create the Visual Business Object. It is also known as VBO. VBO can be used to interoperate with other applications. These objects can perform a variety of actions in the Object Studio.

Object Studio is very similar to Process Studio, as you will see. These are the key differences:

  • Object Studio provides some "stages" that are not available in Process Studio.
  • Object Studio doesn't have the Main Page. However, it does have two default pages.
  • Pages are structured as a flat group, not like the Process Studio.

The Benefits of Developing a VBO:

  • Consistency Scalability
  • Lesser bot creation time for the subsequent processes
  • It is easier to make system changes in one place than for each process. Bot maintenance is easy

What's Process Studio?

Process Studio is a place where you can create a process. It is similar to a traditional flowchart. It allows for business logic, control loops, and variables to be sequenced in a visible business flow. The Process Studio has a tab for each page of a process. It is similar to a flowchart in that the process definitions are in the Process Studio.

A process behaves like a human user. It follows a software robot's logic. It's almost like personal interaction with multiple applications to perform a series of steps that can trigger actions to execute the same steps.

Process diagram:

  • A process diagram is a collection of stages linked together by links to create logical structures.
  • Stages can be selected from the toolbar, and then placed on the diagram with the mouse.
  • You can select, move, resize, format and cut them, copy, paste, delete, and modify as you would expect.
  • Stages can also be accessed via double-clicking.
  • Links can be created by using the link tool. Drag the mouse from one stage to another.
  • You can use the link tool to drag between multiple stages at once.
